WEST LINN PARTIAL SIDING REPLACEMENT AND EXTERIOR PAINTING

During the pressure washing and prep stage of painting, we always check for dry rot or other damages. Unfortunately we discovered one side of the house where water got behind the siding and destroyed some of the siding boards and even some of the plywood boards underneath due to improper flashing around the windows and other areas exposed to water. We replaced the damaged plywood boards, flashed around the windows properly, added a new vapor barrier and installed it properly, followed by the Cedar Mill Hardie plank lap siding which were installed with metal flashing under the butt joints. Some of the cedar shingles in front of the house were replaced too due to water damage; However, rather than staining them, we recommended priming and painting them since the longevity is much better with paint than stain. After the necessary repairs were completed, we finished the project with a fresh coat of paint which was closely matched with the existing color.
