SE PORTLAND EXTERIOR RESTORATION: EXTERIOR PAINTING AND FRONT PORCH REBUILD

This early 1900’s home was no different than the other similar projects we have done. Needs a certain level of carpentry repairs and removing the Lead Based paint prior to painting. For this particular project, we discovered that half of the front porch was rotted through, and one of the support posts for the overhang was on the verge of collapsing due to improper craftmanship. With temporary structures, we were able to disassemble the existing post and rebuild it properly to ensure it’s structurally sound and built with proper sized lumber and pressure treated. The finish work involved adding in matching lap siding, and painting the exterior. Since older homes have lots of details, such as accent trim, wood window sashes, corbels, or unique rafters, having multiple colors as well as vibrant colors help highlight those unique details.
